Paddy McClendon Blalock

Paddy Lee McClendon Blalock, 92, of Gainesville, GA, died September 20, 2026, at Lanier Village Estates. 

Born and raised in Arkansas, she, her husband, and their two children moved to Gainesville in 1964. Paddy was devoted to her family in addition to staying active with various Jr. League service projects as well as opening a needlepoint shop. Paddy married Dan Blalock of Bradenton, Florida in 1992. After his death, she returned to Georgia, which she always considered home. Paddy enjoyed needlework, reading, playing piano, and having time with family/friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Zach McClendon, Sr. and husband, Dan.

 Paddy is survived by her brother Zach McClendon, Jr. and his family; her children, Laura Lee Estes and Sam Estes; and stepchildren, Bill Blalock and Susan Blalock. She has three grandchildren Zach Estes, Martin Estes, and Andrew Estes; two step grandchildren, Braxton Blalock and Beck Blalock; and one great grandchild, Lucas.

Paddy will be remembered for her generous hospitality, perfect etiquette, and sense of humor. May her spirit continue to live in those who knew and loved her. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Lanier Village Estates for their caring help and support.

The funeral service will be Saturday October 3 at 11:00 in the chapel at Grace Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church.
