Cheryl J. Owens, 78 of Lula, passed away Sunday August 9, 2026.

Cheryl was born in Clarkesville, Georgia to the late Myron H. Jordan and Oma Lee Spivey on November 30, 1947. Her sister Carol also proceeds her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Laland, daughter Kelly Howington and husband Andy, son Josh and wife Molly. Grandchildren are Vaughn Howington (Callie), Luke, Jeb and Anna Kate Owens.

Over 59 years of marriage her life was devoted to family, work and church. Her God given talent for church piano emerged at a very young age and continued until Parkinsons disease silenced it. Her piano spurred the Holy Spirit to show up before THE WORD was spoken. She believed God made the music of all creation, and she loved to help him.

Her professional career was in banking and finance.

A viewing will be held Wednesday August 12 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home, Gainesville, Ga. Followed by a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. John Eldridge.
